ALDA National

ALDA Suncoast will meet on the second Tuesday of the month at 7:00 PM as usual but in person meetings are replaced with online meetings in Zoom for July and August 2020 due to Coronavirus. We will continue to evaluate the safety of resuming in person meetings in the future.

Rick Brown, President of ALDA, Inc., our national organization, will be our speaker for July.

Our meetings are captioned in real-time so everyone can read what is being said. We have sign language interpreters too.

As an organization for people with hearing loss, we strive for inclusion, diversity, and equality for all. We encourage a truly safe, respectful, and non-violent whole community. We wish to offer our deepest condolences to all families and friends of those who have been on the receiving end of acts of injustice, discrimination, and violence leading to the senseless loss of lives of black people.

ALDA Suncoast is extremely saddened by the death of George Floyd and many other black people as the result of systematic racism. We implore all people, organizations, and groups to encourage a high level of accountability for our leaders and officials related to violence and discrimination. We as an organization stand in solidarity with the community for Black Lives Matter and denounce racism, inequality, and police brutality of any kind.

Items we mentioned at our meeting:

2021 Convention
