ALDA Suncoast has closed. We did not have enough people who wanted to be on the board to run a Chapter. An ALDA group has been started called ALDA Nature Coast. This is the area northeast of Tampa Bay where most of our active members live in Pasco and Hernando counties but anyone in surrounding areas that wants to join us is welcome. There is no board of directors in a group and it will carry on the Alda support and socialization for late deafened people. The new group will get together socially like the Chapter did. We will still use the whatever works method of communication, signing, speech reading, writing, and/or apps. We will still provide peer support for your questions on equipment, advocacy and dealing with loss of hearing. Any of the former Suncoast members who want to participate in the group should pay their national membership directly to Alda.org, the group will not have an annual membership fee, members only need to be part of the National organization.
2026 Conference
ALDAcon is October 7-11, 2026 ALDAcon 2026 will be held at the Williamsburg Lodge, 310 S England St, Williamsburg, VA 23185. Registration for ALDACon 2026 is open at Alda.org
